I climb the mountain, relishing the feeling of pointed toes digging into the dirt. The rocky path is well-worn, a sign that many others have taken this journey before me.


As I look on, I see soft clouds and mountains stretching for miles in front of me.


Climbing the mountain and looking at the beautiful surrounding makes me feel joyful. However, I'm terrified of what lays ahead of us.


There's nothing quite like the view of the Pacific Northwest Mountains. Here, you can appreciate the simplicity of nature and wonder at God's creations.

Pataka River Story

A quiet stream of water is surrounded by rocks and sand; it looks very peaceful and serene. Using a rock, someone tosses it into the river causing ripples to form creating waves in the water. Fish swimming nearby are startled by the commotion and swim deeper into the river as the fish that were directly hit by the stone sink to the river bottom. One day, a boy named Hideki was walking along the riverbank. He picked up a stone and threw it into the river. "I wonder what would happen if I throw it in," he said to himself, rubbing his head as he always did. The rock landed on a fish's head, bounced off, and plopped into the water.
